Painting is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other medium to a solid surface (called the 'matrix' or 'support'). Cave paintings were then found in Kalimantan, Indonesia in the Lubang Jeriji Salh cave believed to be 40, 000 - 52, 000 years old.
